what the manufacturer says

Wrap & Roll is the best soft mousse, setting and wrapping product available on the market today. It dries clean and soft without leaving any residue. Great for dry, color-treated or damaged hair, the natural glycerides, essential oils and moisturizers leave your hair soft and shiny. Cut dryer time in half by applying Wrap and Roll liberally to wet hair, then wrap/set and dry as usual or let it dry naturally.

As soon as I apply this product my curls just pop and define, yet my hair is not crunchy when it dries due to the fact this product is very lightweight. As it is very liquidy (if that’s a word even – maybe fluid is the word I’m looking for) I don’t need to apply as much as I would if I were applying a thick gel. This product also left my hair very shiny but not oily to the touch.

Come to find out my hair LOVES this stuff. It smells phenomenal and goes on my hair well! When my hair dried and I took my flat twists my hair was soft and extremely touchable. I would highly recommend this product! It’s worth trying for $6 and you get a A LOT of product for your money.

I can see this being REALLY good for a transitioner or someone who does roller sets/rod sets a lot. It’s very light, so it won’t weigh your hair down and set like the one I listed above is a great way to blend the two textures long(er) term transitioners have. For someone who doesn’t do roller sets or is NOT transitioning, pass on this and the Nourish and Shine instead.

I have very kinky, natural hair (4B/C) and I have stayed away from roller sets in the past because my hair would come out frizzy, crunchy, or dry. I got the setting lotion in a sample pack from Target and decided to give it a go. I am amazed at how well my hair turned out! I used it on damp hair with satin-covered sponge rollers, and let it dry overnight. This product made my hair very smooth and shiny, which is normally hard for me to achieve. It left my hair very soft but still had enough hold for my curls to last for days. No flakes, no crunch and no drying out my hair! I would normally have to blow out my hair, and then roll it to achieve this look. Needless to say I’m very impressed and I’ll be wearing roller sets more often.

This is a delicate time in my life were I’m transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and so I’m switching to all natural products. Right now it’s a trial and error period of products for me and I must say I’m VERY pleased with the results!!! It left my hair soft with a great, natural hold, shiny and so frizz free! I’m doing a lot of rod sets so my curls are perfect now compared to Lottabody which I used to use. The competition doesn’t come close. It’s worth the price and is now happily a part of my natural journey’s regimen.

Not like the typical setting lotion used for blow outs. This really helped smooth my very curly hair prior to flat ironing! I was surprised that it didn’t harden and flake, but very pleased. I will definitely purchase again. So one more Jane Carter favorite added to the list!

  1. Hey there,

Thanks for this. Just wanted to comment on the cons. Wrap & Roll was designed as a cuticle smoother, and has no holding components. So for a wash and go, this product can be used to add some extra moisture but, would absolutely need another product to assist with hold. We recommend Curl Defining Cream or Incredible Curls to go on top.
