The MTV Video Music Awards took place last night. So naturally, we spent some time perusing red carpet looks to pick out our favs. This year, perhaps by coincidence or maybe because we just love these ladies, the former members of Destiny Child and Solange, who wrote songs for the group, make up our entire red carpet hair round up.

Length seemed to be the dominating trend among these gals with Beyoncé having ditched her asymmetrical bob for back-legnth dark honey blonde waves. (Anyone else notice hands-on-thighs is B’s go-to red carpet pose?)

Michelle also opted for back-length locks and a little color, but hers was a bone straight ‘do with a sleek off-center part.

Solange skipped super length and went for volume with blown out soft whimsical waves. She got the fashion blogs talking by wearing  a sparkly H&M pant suit. If you look a little closer, you’ll notice that she also added a little flare to her otherwise neutral makeup palette with red lashes.

Then of course we have the lovely mother-to-be, Kelly Rowland, who swept her locks up and out of the way with an elegant (and highlighted) goddess braid.

Finally, an unofficial member of Destiny’s Child made an appearance at the award show when her mom accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Little Blue Ivy, who’ll likely soon be setting up play dates with Kelly’s little one, rocked her signature carefree ‘do, slightly embellished by a gold glittery bow for the occasion.

Who’s look did you like best?
