The AfroPUNK Festival marked its 10th year this past weekend as it returned to Brooklyn’s Commodore Park for another show of musical eclecticism! Music and fashion lovers alike came out in droves to celebrate what has become regarded as the most iconic mashup of counterculture, punk, rock, hip-hop and everything in between. Guests were treated to the sounds of large acts such as singers Alice Smith, Valerie June, D’Angelo and underground artists such as SKA and DJ Dundhee. In addition to the amazing sounds, there was of course, no shortage of unique street fashion and creative hair styles that included everything from towering twist up dos to look at me hues. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites below.

The sun brought out a number of funky shades, from white cat eyes…

Equally as versatile was hair length, which ranged from cooly bald…

…to boldly voluminous curls…

…carefree kinks…

…and look-at-me stretched out locks.

Box braids and twists also had a healthy presence, with quite a few people rocking them with shaved sides.

Then there were the hair accessories! Delicate boho hair jewelry matched the atmosphere of the weekend…

And of course, there was no shortage of bandanas, scarves, wraps and hats.
