Question:
I am in the beginning stages of transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. I’ve lived in Italy for the last two years and will remain here for the next three and I find it difficult to get real (professional) care for my hair. I would like to get a Keratin treatment during this time. Would this be a big mistake, especially because I am transitioning? Thanks in advance!
– Brandy
Answer:
When transitioning out of a relaxer it’s best that your hair is maintained in one consistent texture and moisturized often. This prevents your strands for being traumatized during “at home” styling. Therefore a Keratin treatment would be good for this transition because it will coat and protect your hair while sealing in the moisture you need to help prevent breakage experienced when growing out a relaxer. Good luck!
