Ask the Expert: Any Product Suggestions to Help Thicken My Natural Hair?

Question:  Danielle asks: I am a natural girl, but I have thin, fine hair. I used a spray product a few years ago that said it would thicken my fine hair. The product said to use on the roots of the hair but I sometimes sprayed it on my ends and now my ends are really frizzy and bushy even when I trim them. I don’t do twist outs often because I feel like my ends never cooperate and ruin the style. But they look fine when I do wash and go’s. Is there anything I can do to minimize the bushy appearance or are there certain products I can use? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Answer:   Hi Danielle! To minimize the bushy, frizzy appearance, opt for creams and serums over spray products.  These products are denser and will lock in moisture much better than a spray, bonding the strands together in a touchable way.  I love the Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Defining Curls Custard for your hair type, which you can apply to your wet hair after washing before styling, especially for wet and wear styles.
