We’ve hit a little bit of a grey area. Is a short cheek/chin length hair cut that frames your face like a bob still a bob if it doesn’t have bangs? We’ve yet to come to a conclusion but that’s not stopping us from giving some love to these bob-varations.

If you’re looking for a neat look that can be created with straightened hair or a wig, a deep side part on bone straight hair is the way to go. You can keep things uber slick like singer Alicia Keys or add a bit of volume and disarray like model Joan Smalls (top).

We’re swooning over Ciara’s messy ombre do. For a while the singer rocked this lighthearted chin length cut, which was for the most part blond with deep dark roots that were happily displayed through a side part.
swoop it
If you want to add a little shape to your hair for, grab your favorite hair spray and create a statement swoop like singer Kerri Hilson. Although a swoop may sometimes be a little annoying, there’s nothing more alluring than a partially covered eye.
