We’re all about the bowl cut this week (really this winter) but knowing that such an edgy cut is quite the commitment, we set out to find a way to fake the look. To our luck, hair vlogger TheUrbanGlamazon created a great tutorial showing us how to get the look with weave. Instead of a straight blunt bowl cut she opts for a layered 80’s-esque cut, reminiscent of Salt n’ Pepa. See the first video below.
Brace yourself, creating this look will take some time as you have to first put in the weave then cut and curl it. TheUrbanGlamazon glues in her weave to her hair. We like to avoid doing that as taking out a glued in weave can damage your hair (or pull some of it out) if not removed properly. Somewhat alternatively, vlogger 4nomenal28 creates a similar look but uses a wig cap, so the weave is not glued into her hair. She uses a 27 piece weave that comes with three bundles of hair, a wig cap and a plastic cap. Check out the second video below.
We’ll be trying this look in the weeks to come so stay tuned for our take!
