Question:

Hey, I’m a teenage boy with straight hair. I was growing out my hair and it was quite thick. But one day I washed it and afterwards it became all thin and a little frizzy. Also, the fringe became separated into different segments and the ends of my hair have curled up and become dry. I was told to condition my hair, but what else will I have to do? Get it trimmed?

Answer:

Please note that trims are always a great step in achieving healthy hair, and the same applies to deep conditioners. It sounds as though you started with a great base and all it needs is a little attention. You may have a hair cowlick which simply means the natural pattern in which your hair intends to grow, and you can’t manipulate or over direct it to lay a different pattern. I would recommend a haircut.
