‘Tis the season… award season, that is. The time of the year when the stars come out and galavant from red carpet to red carpet kicked off last Sunday with the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and unlike in previous years, we were pleasantly surprised to see A LOT more color *wink wink* on this year’s carpet. Here’s a round up of our favorite looks.

Bone Straight

Actresses Kerry Washington and Viola Davis got straight to the point with their hair and kept the focus on their dresses–Washington in an ornate lace gold leafed ensemble and Davis in a statement yellow over the shoulder dress.

Tucked Away

Also keeping things simple were Thandie Newton in what looks like a sleek pony tail or bun look, and Tracee Ellis Ross, who let her long fluffy curls decorate her bare shoulders.

Bring on the Waves

Gymnast Simone Biles and actress Octavia Spencer both channeled their inner Beyoncé with wavy bobs, although Biles’ waves were a bit more subdued, while 007 actress Naomie Harris played it old school, with  long glamorous side swept waves.

Keepin’ it Kinky

Actress Ryan Michelle wore a half-out-half-braided look with fun blond highlights sprinkled in to her tight curls. While Zazie Beetz (what a name) kept her dramatic dress lighthearted with a messy updo.

Crowning Glory

Finally two of the web’s favorite naturalistas looked regal with their thick tresses piled atop their heads. Singer Janelle Monáe adorned her hair with a little bit of hair jewelry, while writer/producer/actress du jour showed off her brown locks with a front-facing bun.

Sound off in the comments! Which look’s your fav?
