One of the reasons un’ruly was founded was to celebrate just how versatile hair can be. Black women tend to really take advantage of the various ways one can wear her hair. And now, with natural hair making a post-70s “comeback,” there are even more styles to choose from. There are also new conversations occurring with the resurgence of natural black hair. Within the natural hair community women who wear weaves or have relaxed hair are sometimes frowned upon. Outside of the community, non-blacks are taking an interest in our rare hair texture and are expressing their curiosity about it. This month at un’ruly we’ll be exploring some of these new questions and what it now means to “express the many faces of your femininity,” as May Working Girl Wayetu Moore put it.

Best,

Antonia

An entrepreneur at heart, I founded Unruly in 2013 after spending six great years in advertising. I’m über lazy when it comes to doing my hair so I’m always looking for easy and quick ways to care and style my hair.
