Question: How often should I cut my natural hair?

Answer:

There is no universal answer for this. In my experience trims/cuts should happen based on how much you manipulate your own hair. If you are a natural who constantly straightens their hair you may need to trim your hair a little more often than most (1-2 months). If you protective style the majority of the time it may be helpful to lightly dust the ends in between each install. For all others, I would say quarterly, which equates to every 3-4 months or so. Everyone’s hair is different and what I suggest is not law. Pay attention to your hair; it gives great directions and will let you know when it needs a trim.
