Our year got off to a great start as we set off on our journey exploring the Africa and the Diaspora. We sprinkled in a little V-Day love and some #NewHairNewYear hair inspiration.
In December we met a writer and academic and looked back on our favorite hairstyles of the year.
November brought us 12 months of Rihanna hairstyles and much, much more!
We came, we saw and we ate in October, dedicating the month to the delectables that color our culture. We met two working girls in the culinary scene and explored what Black food really is.
In September we focused on entertainment and looked at beauty standards across the pond; our favorite looks from Half of a Yellow Sun and much much more.
In August we explored Black music, shared our favorite summer songs, learned the story behind Grace Jones' hair and much more.
July kicked off our Best. Summer. Ever! We day dreamed about sun-filled destinations and learned how to keep our hair healthy during long summer days.
In June we learned how to find our center with yoga, we took a look at the colorlessness of Black and we learned about the carefree hair story of actress Lisa Bonet.
May was all about standing apart and standing out. We looked at eye catching hair styles, and learned a new way to look at being different.
We dedicated April to exploring Black possibility, from the economic potential of an African nation to the length potential of Black hair.
In march we dove into beauty both inside and out, taking a look at skin bleaching, philanthropy, and choosing to be kinky with the help of extensions. Check it all out in case you missed any of March's best.
In February we explored Black history through art, drew hairspiration from hair shows and fashion shows, and took a look at the imaginative evolution of African prints. Check out our round up of February's best.
