After a year-long abstinence from my Brazilian keratin treatment, a dabble with poetic justice-esque braids, and a recent trip to the Caribbean, I found my hair in dire need of moisture to the point where it felt crunchy and brittle. Having naturally dry, thirsty hair especially around my front edges, I’m always on the search for the latest miracle moisture potent. I saw great moisture results with my keratin treatment, but I am opting to stretch the life of the process and not satiate my hair with less than natural products. Now that the treatment is growing out, combined with the day to day effects of styling, finding a key moisture-infused staple to add to my regimen has become a task of much importance.
Normally, I would do research online, seek advice from the hair griot’s and buy whichever products they recommended. But now that I’m on a job-less induced budget, resourcefulness and revisiting shelved items is the name of the game. Combing through my mountain of beauty products under the sink, nestled in the corner was a long forgotten little pot of gold – Amazon gold to be exact. The nutty smell of Ojon Restorative Treatment Plus flooded back memories of Sunday morning rituals long passed. After applying the treatment overnight to my overly-parched hair, the next morning I applied a little more treatment with heat activation before rinsing. The result was phenomenal, given only one application; my hair was shiny, moisturized and even felt a little stronger.
I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a deep treatment and looking for a product with somewhat natural ingredients. However, incorporating the product into your hair regime can be a little time consuming and messy, as I believe it works best when left on overnight. The main reason I shelved it a few years back, was I just didn’t have the time. The smell is another factor which many don’t care for. I don’t mind it. But for those who are little nose sensitive, Ojon now offers a lighter scented version. Running between $20-35, anyone wary of such an investment can usually pick up a free sample of the treatment at their local Sephora store.

I bought this product on eBay, my hair is really damaged, I relax my hair and on top of that I got highlights 0_0!! (Yea it’s a mess) and I heard good reviews about this treatment, I’m going to start using it tomorrow and see the results. Also I know my hair it’s a mess and really dry!! So I’m using pureology hydracure, plus a treatment that gives “proteins” to my hair… Yea I didn’t know products could do that, but I just want my hair to grow again like before :)

where to buy
Rouge oleifera extract-The rich, red colored pulp of the Ojon nut has been shown to contain highly concentrated antioxidants. It helps reverse damage to hair follicles and restores shine, softness and strength to hair. It is a key ingredient found in Ojon Damage Reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum.
Ojon oil—Known as “nature’s golden elixir”, this now-legendary oil is rich in essential lipids similar to those in unprocessed, virgin hair. Found only in the rainforests of Central America and harvested and extracted by hand from the nuts of the fragrant Ojon tree, this amazing beauty secret has been used for centuries to restore perfect health and vitality to “hair broken by the blazing sun”.
