What are kids cornrows and flat twists?

Cornrows are braids created close to the scalp using an underhand technique, while flat twists use two strands twisted against the scalp instead of three. Both styles can be done in straight backs, curved patterns, or creative designs. Many parents choose them for their styling flexibility and for helping minimize daily detangling and manipulation. During the booking process, you can include a photo of the braid pattern you’d like.

This was our first time using Unruly and we were really impressed! The appointment was for my 5 year old and, as I have 2 other kids, it was very convenient having the stylist come to us. We had a couple not great experiences recently with late arrival and just a generally long process. Janelle arrived early and finished in an hour. My daughter’s braids are only going to last a short time anyway so on time arrival and speed are really valued in our house and Janelle nailed both!
