New York’s runways have long been lacking diversity but this Fall/Winter season saw a slight improvement–a 1% bump since last season’s shows–which made room for a notable amount of natural tresses prancing their way down the runways. Here are a few that caught our eye.
A couple large afros were spotted with shoulder-bearing looks. One of our favorites was a black 60s inspired sleeveless dress at the Lisa Perry show.

Smaller afros were complimented with head scarves and coats–ranging from letterman jackets at the DKNY show to big statement furs at J. Mendel.

We loved, loved, loved this Teeny Weeny Afro (TWA) and slinky satin dress at Tome. The simple lines of the dress and minimalist styling (nude makeup, no jewelry) were the epitome of effortless beauty.
