Since comedian and actress Maya Rudolph left the long-running comedy sketch series, Saturday Night Live (SNL) six years ago, there has been a huge lack in diversity, especially with regard to African-American female cast members on the show. That all changes when Sasheera Zamata joins the cast on January 18th. Sasheera’s background is in improvisational comedy and is pretty hilarious from what we’ve seen so far. Be sure to tune into the new season when rapper, Drake hosts and performs.

This literary gem by Drexel University professor, Yaba Blay, seeks to challenge narrow perceptions of Blackness as both an identity and lived reality. What exactly is Blackness? Yes!
