event: un’box – a product swap for black hair (october)

Because one girl’s “can’t-have” is another girl’s “must-have,” we’re inviting New York-based product junkies to clear out their cabinets and subscription beauty boxes of any unused or fairly used products and join us in connecting with fellow product-obsessed gals to uncover and swap Black hair products, tips, secrets and more!

We all know that finding the right products for your hair regimen is a trial and error process and during that process you come across many products that aren’t quite right for your unique set of tresses. So we figured, why not get together to get rid of the products that haven’t worked and maybe find ones that do.  This October we’re partnering with Polish Bar Brooklyn and beauty blogger extraordinaire Ty Alexander to bring you Un’box, a product swap for Black hair with sweet treats provided by Fabipops. See below for details.

how it works

Step 1: Give

Once you arrive, drop off your products (up to 10) and get a ticket for each suitable product you dropped off.

Step 2: Get

Browse the other products brought to the swap. Once you find a product (or products) you like, swap your stamps for your new finds.

Step 3: Mingle

Mix and mingle with other guests and dish on your hair do’s and don’ts. Come and go as you please as new products will arrive throughout the event.

What to bring: A wise gal once said, when thinking about what to bring think about what you’d like to receive. Bring full-sized hair care and styling products, i.e. shampoos conditioners, butters, etc. that you may have used once or twice. Also, bring a bag to carry all your goodies.

time & place

Time: Sunday October 12th, 2014 4:00 – 7:00pm

Place: Polish Bar Brooklyn

470 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11205 (map it)

About Polish Bar Brooklyn: “With walls frosted in candy pink and treatments that borrow their most delectable ingredients straight from a baker’s pantry, this boutique bares closer resemblance to a cupcake shop than a nail salon. Fortunately for its young and body-conscious Clinton Hill clientele, the treats served to those perched high on chocolate brown thrones—brown sugar pedicures and coconut-vanilla manicures—are 100 percent calorie-free.” Learn more.

Let us know you’re coming. Fill out the form below. Please note that the event will be filmed.

Oh no! I can’t make it to this because of New York Comic Con. I have so many products to get rid of! I enjoyed your last product swap and I would’ve loved to meet Gorgeous In Grey too!
