I’m taking this month’s food focus to kick-off a new series under Un’ruly Life: #eatpretty. I follow tons of food bloggers on Instagram because food is the one thing I can’t compromise on. Whether rich or poor, I always have to eat well. The great thing is good food doesn’t require a hefty price tag. And the bloggers I follow help prove that. So on occasion, I’ll be sharing my attempts at recreating their recipes, or dishes that I encounter while eating out and I’ll also share recipes that I cook up on my own.
This simple snack (or lunch) was actually inspired by the avocado toast at Café Gitane in New York.
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- Any kind of grainy brown sliced bread. The grainier the better.
- Salt
- Red pepper flakes
- Drizzle of truffle oil (because why not #amiright?)
Directions
- Mash up the avocado.
- Add salt to taste.
- Spread on toast.
- Sprinkle the red pepper flakes.
- And because I’m addicted, I drizzled truffle oil on the toast! Yum!
Bon app!
