100 Years In The Making
Mannequin training heads started appearing in US beauty education in the late 19th to early 20th century. They became more common as cosmetology education became formalized in the 1930s.
Since then, not much has changed….

A Painful Issue
Taking a pain reliever after getting your hair done has been normalized thanks in part to the myth that braids have to be tight in order to be secure. As a result, almost 100 million people in the US suffer from traction alopecia and 40% of that number are Black women. This is due to braided styles being done improperly and we’re on a mission to reverse course.
